It was such a privilege to give back to a school that afforded me so many great opportunities and memories. The illustrious Lewis Cass Technical High School! ππ€
Kelsey, thank you for accepting my invitation to collaborate! You are a beautiful spirit, and your students are truly blessed to have you as their educator. π

P&G (Always, Tampax) and Summer’s Eve will be the supplier for the βPink Relief Bagsβ!
Pink Relief Bags are mesh bags filled with menstrual hygiene products to fight the Period Poverty battle! There will also be a kicker card with a special QR Code in the bags that students will be able to scan. The QR code is directly linked to Always’ Period and Wellness Tracking app, as well as access to health information about menstrual cycles.
Next stop, my alma mater, the illustrious Lewis Cass Technical High School!
Through my pain and devastation, Iβve been able to heal through my writing. Through my expressive advocacy and through my bold activism. You pushed me beyond my limits and made me fall in love with the art of English Literature.
I don’t take your existence lightly because had it not been for you, a large part of me would not have reached its purpose and be able to walk in my divine calling.
It was a true pleasure being a student of yours, and now a privilege to call you my friend. I hope this chapter is filled with all the love, all the warmth, all the compassion, and all the encouragement you have so freely given to others.
Mesh bags filled with menstrual hygiene products to inspire schools / businesses to begin offering free menstrual products.
Not having adequate access to menstrual hygiene products is far too common in the United States and across the globe . A national average survey (BMCWomenβs Health) shows that 1 in 4 students miss school because they donβt have the proper necessities or access to menstrual hygiene products. Which translates to βPeriod Povertyβ. In every sense of responsibility, Period Poverty is a public health crisis.
I propose a law or ordinance regulating the distribution of menstrual hygiene products in all Detroit Public Schools to help curb the effort of Period Poverty. This will help to ensure that the students matriculating through the Detroit Public School system have access to necessary menstrual care products and to ensure that they have access to proper menstrual health education as well.
Pink Relief Bags are mesh bags filled with menstrual hygiene products to fight the Period Poverty battle! Again, my hope is to inspire ALL school to begin offering free menstrual products to their students. There will also be a kicker card with a special QR Code in the bags that students will be able to scan and access online health information about their menstrual cycles.
