Sandra Day O’Connor 👑💐🕊

Former Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, first woman on the Supreme Court, dies

“Society as a whole benefit immeasurably from a climate in which all persons, regardless of race or gender, may have the opportunity to earn respect, responsibility, advancement, and remuneration based on ability.”

Rest peacefully my dear, you’ve earned it. ♥️

Sgt. Elaine Williams 💜🕊👑

Detroit Police Department

Hearing the devastating news that you were taken back in 2019 was heartbreaking. Not in the line of duty, not that that would have provided any solace. But from domestic abuse at the hands of a cold and calculated abuser. May he reap what he sowed.

I pray my advocacy and activism for domestic violence awareness creates a safety net of hope and freedom for the most vulnerable.

May your memory continue to inspire and bless us all.

Elaine, I love you. Always will. 💜

To my life source 👑💐♥️

Chapter 54.

54 years of pure beauty. 54 years of strength. 54 years of courage. 54 years of growth. 54 years of grace.

For a world that wasn’t always the kindest to you, you have given so much kindness back to it.

May your 54th chapter be magical! Overflowing with peace, love, and all the blessings this world has to offer. You deserve all things magical because you are magic itself.

The greatest privilege and honor of my life is being able to have shared 32 (and counting) of these years with you. The greatest privilege and honor of my life is being your daughter.

With everything in me, I thank God for your love, strength, and encouragement.

Thank you for existing. 👑♥️💐

From one First Lady to the next. 👑🇺🇲💐

You learn very quickly that there is no handbook or rules to being First Lady. Technically, it’s not even an official position. And while there are spoken and unspoken expectations that provide some structure, the role is largely shaped by the passions and aspirations of the person holding it.

First Lady Rosalynn Carter understood that well.

Guided by her abiding faith and her commitment to service, Mrs. Carter used her platform in profoundly meaningful ways. Her groundbreaking work to combat the stigma faced by those struggling with their mental health brought light to so many suffering in silence. She advocated for better care for the elderly. She advanced women’s rights. And she remained a champion for those causes — and many others like building affordable housing for those in need and caring for our nation’s caregivers — in the more than four decades that followed.

When our family was in the White House, every so often, Rosalynn would join me for lunch, offering a few words of advice and always — always — a helping hand. She reminded me to make the role of First Lady my own, just like she did. I’ll always remain grateful for her support and her generosity.

Today, Barack and I join the world in celebrating the remarkable legacy of a First Lady, philanthropist, and advocate who dedicated her life to lifting up others. Her life is a reminder that no matter who we are, our legacies are best measured, not in awards or accolades but in the lives we touch. We send our thoughts and prayers to Jimmy and the entire Carter family during this difficult time.

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭55:22‬

It’s easy to get distracted by life and the problems that it brings. In an effort to provide some relief, we often, as humans, want a quick fix. But seldom are those quick fixes in life fixes at all. As believers, we must understand that even God’s miracles and resolutions can take time and require patience.

Your burdens, trials, tribulations, and storms may be the result of unforeseen circumstances and external sources that were completely out of your control. On the contrary, they may be a result of our own mistakes and free will decisions. Either way, we must take responsibility and accountability for what we can and know that God will be there every step. God is well aware that there are things that are out of our control and realizes that there is evil in this fallen world. He also realizes that evil may come at our expense, but there is no need to make excuses or worry.

It’s imperative to look at your life and situation from a realistic perspective and begin seeing the circumstances through eyes filled with truth. If you continue to make excuses and distort reality, there will be no progression. As believers, God is asking us to bring our burdens to him and accept responsibility, repent, and begin moving forward with our newfound freedom. Bringing your burdens to God and owning your role in them allows God to make transformative changes in your life and situation.

God’s love for his children will never change. There is nothing we can do that can make God love us any less than he does. We were created by God, and we remain His for better and for worse. Please remember that God’s mercy and grace are sufficient and will be all we will ever need in every moment.
